Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle trolley for Comic-Con!

It’s still May, and the first trolley wrap for Comic-Con 2025 has already appeared in San Diego! This morning I managed to take a couple good photographs!

The cool trolley graphics promote Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle, a movie that’s coming on September 12, 2025. The official anime movie’s name is Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle. That’s a mouthful!

You can learn more about the upcoming movie here!

As usual, I’ll be keeping a lookout for Comic-Con stuff this year. Comic-Con will be back in full strength after the pandemic and writers strike a few years ago, so I hope to take lots of colorful photos!

UPDATE!

By sheer chance, I found myself on the same trolley the next day heading down to Barrio Logan. And I captured a couple more photos…

And a couple more…

San Diego, all aboard the Holly Jolly Trolley!

The holiday season wouldn’t be the same without a new San Diego tradition: the Holly Jolly Trolley!

Excited people gathered this morning for a festive ride aboard the original, now vintage 1001 car of the San Diego Trolley.

Today only, the Holly Jolly Trolley travels in a loop through downtown San Diego. Before and after the trip, passengers meet Santa, enjoy hot cocoa, get a trolley Christmas tree ornament, take photographs at a special booth and more at the Gaslamp trolley station.

This year–the event’s Second Annual–seats were quickly sold out, but that didn’t prevent me from walking around the Gaslamp station and seeing the fun!

Big smiles at MTS Free Ride Day!

Passengers on buses and trolleys in San Diego have a lot to smile about today. Because it’s October 2, 2024, otherwise known as MTS Free Ride Day!

Those getting off the Green Line trolley at the Gaslamp Station before the Padres’ big Postseason Game had another reason to smile. Free bottled water for the game! A fun chance to take a photograph looking through the windows of a tiny trolley car . . . right next to a smiling Yu, Tatis and Manny!

Yeah!

The Boys take over a Comic-Con trolley!

Passengers beware! Super powered individuals have been observed on a San Diego trolley–and there’s no escape from the mayhem!

I should say–you can’t escape seeing this bold new trolley wrap that promotes the popular Amazon Prime series The Boys!

Pop culture fans can look forward to riding this cool The Boys trolley during Comic-Con 2024. It’s the seventh different Comic-Con trolley wrap that I’ve seen running through the city so far!

This is the second wrap design that advertises shows on Amazon Prime. I photographed the other design yesterday. See it here!

Batman and more on a Comic-Con trolley!

Batman and more characters have appeared on the latest San Diego Comic-Con trolley!

The awesome trolley wrap, which I believe is the sixth design so far for Comic-Con 2024, promotes six shows on Amazon Prime. Those shows are Batman: Caped Crusader, The Legend of Vox Machina, Sausage Party: Foodtopia, Hazbin Hotel, The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy, and Invincible.

I got some pretty good pics this afternoon. Check it out!

The other side of Audible’s Comic-Con trolley!

Check out very cool graphics on one side of a trolley car that was recently wrapped for Comic-Con 2024!

I got photos of the opposite side a couple days ago, and posted them here. (Those graphics promote George Orwell’s 1984 and The Safe Man.)

This second side promotes Audible originals The Sandman and Impact Winter. (Remember the amazing sand sculptures two years ago at Comic-Con based on The Sandman and Impact Winter? Those photographs can be viewed here.)

This morning I had to act fast to capture these new photos! (I think the trolley driver noticed me and paused an extra moment or two–if so, thank you!)

A fun Abbott Elementary trolley for Comic-Con!

The third trolley wrap to appear in San Diego for Comic-Con 2024 promotes the ABC television series Abbott Elementary. And you can’t possibly miss it!

The fun circus graphics refer to the Abbott Elementary A.V.A. Fest (or A Very Abbott Festival), which originated in a classic episode in the show’s second season.

Critically acclaimed through its first three seasons, Abbott Elementary has been renewed for a fourth season. The humorous interactions of its well-rounded characters has kept the good-natured sitcom fresh and enjoyable!

Check out these photos taken today, about a month before the start of San Diego Comic-Con.

Excited yet?

San Diego Comic-Con trolley becomes Snowpiercer!

The Snowpiercer train was seen moving through San Diego today!

The second trolley wrap for Comic-Con 2024 promotes the popular drama, whose fourth season will premier in July on AMC!

As I snapped a several photos at a trolley station, I recognized new cast members, particularly Clark Gregg, whose well-known visage has appeared in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Avengers, Thor, and umpteen other MCU movies. (He’s not a robot, is he? Just kidding.)

Well, come to think of it, I doubt this was the actual Snowpiercer train, seeing how there weren’t hundreds of cars barreling along, and no snow whatsoever to be seen in sunny San Diego…

Ghosts materialize on a Comic-Con trolley!

An odd collection of ghosts has materialized on a San Diego Trolley for Comic-Con 2024!

The first trolley wrap for San Diego Comic-Con this year features three shows that can be viewed on Paramount+. Let the fun begin!

Ghosts is a comedy that has been renewed for a fourth season. Perhaps the deceased characters became tired of haunting the same old place for so many years, and decided to startle trolley riders in San Diego!

This new wrap on a trolley car also includes promotional images for Elsbeth and Tracker.

I wonder if Justin Hartley will use some of his tracking skills acquired while wielding a bow and arrow as Oliver Queen in Smallville? Just kidding. I liked Smallville.

I’ve got my eyes open for new Comic-Con trolley wraps!

World Design Capital on a San Diego trolley!

Have you seen graphics on a San Diego Trolley concerning something called World Design Capital?

The trolley wrap I spotted this morning celebrates the designation of San Diego/Tijuana as World Design Capital 2024!

The two border cities–San Diego, California and Tijuana, Mexico–together compose what is essentially a binational metropolis. The dynamism of these two international cities, enriched by cultural cross-pollination and collaboration, helps make our region a hotbed for new ideas. This unique dynamic helped San Diego/Tijuana achieve the title World Design Capital!

The World Design Capital website explains: By showcasing our region as a global hub for design, innovation, arts, and culture, WDC 2024 will foster lasting economic, social, cultural, civic, and environmental impact.

Numerous community initiatives are being supported by World Design Capital 2024. There are events, activations, exhibitions, projects… You can see a complete program list here.

One event is the upcoming 31st Annual San Diego Latino Film Festival. I blogged about the popular festival a few days ago here.

I’ve also blogged about the art-filled Bay to Park Paseo walking experience that is being created along Park Boulevard, connecting San Diego Bay to Balboa Park. Read my initial blog concerning it here.

There’s more to come!

UPDATE!

A couple days later I noticed World Design Capital banners have appeared downtown, too!
