Later today I’m heading to the OB Street Fair. But, first, this morning I walked through downtown San Diego and caught a few cool sights that anticipate 2017 Comic-Con, which is only a month away! I noted that workers were hanging more Comic-Con banners in the Gaslamp, now that the big Bio conference and the Startup San Diego events are completed.

If you follow Cool San Diego Sights but don’t care all that much about Comic-Con, fear not! I’ll be blogging a lot of other San Diego stuff in the days ahead!

Downtown San Diego has been my home for many years. My online activities reflect my love for writing, blogging, walking and photography.

  1. remember when Comic Con was just a small little thing that no one really knew about? Here in the east, they have it televised! The first year we moved here, I laughed that it was on, but, watched anyhow so that I could see some of home…

    1. I went around 1980 with a Middle School friend when Comic-Con was held at Golden Hall. Back then it was primarily about comic books, with a little bit of Star Wars and Superman the Movie and Battlestar Galactica mixed in. You could talk to the comic book artists at length and get amazing, detailed sketches for free. That isn’t true any more! Comic-Con has grown so huge it blows my mind! The sheer spectacle of it is amazing, that’s for sure!
