In El Cajon, highly advanced aliens from distant planets, the Space Brothers, are going to be welcomed with open arms by this interesting group.
Have I ever encountered extraterrestrials? Well, I’m not sure. I definitely saw an Unidentified Flying Something nine years ago, which I photographed here!
It’s almost Friday! Let the fun begin!

Approach the corner of South Magnolia Avenue and West Douglas Avenue near the center of El Cajon. Move your eyes about. You’ll find bright stars and see far into outer space.
And if your eyes are really sharp, you might observe a flying saucer entering Earth’s atmosphere!
All this spacey street art happens to be around the Unarius Academy of Science.
What’s that?
According to their website: “In 1954, Cosmic Visionaries Ernest L. and Ruth E. Norman established the Unarius Educational Foundation to provide a higher spiritual understanding of life for the betterment of humankind.”
A sign beside the theater-like UFO mural, which can be found on the Unarius building’s north side, indicates its title is Opening the Cosmic Window.
The sign also explains: “The wall mural depicts the Earth’s future when we will be joined, once again, with the Interplanetary Confederation–32 worlds that live in peace and harmony–and share cultural and scientific knowledge for the betterment of all people…”
Stand at the nearby street corner on a starry night. Maybe–just maybe–a flying saucer will spin down from the mysterious cosmos, which is vast seemingly beyond human comprehension.
Who knows?
UPDATE!
At a later date I photographed another mural on a wall by their parking lot…

I’ve never watched The Orville. Most of the people I’ve spoken to say it’s pretty good. I suppose I’ll have to watch an episode or two.
I was walking to another San Diego Comic-Con destination today when I passed The Orville Experience activation in East Village. So I went in!
My camera is old and struggles in dim lighting, but I was able to get a few good shots. I used flash to capture the costumes, but I’m afraid I recorded no information about them.
The exhibition is definitely cool, with props and models and all sorts of amazing stuff from the show.
Those of you who do watch The Orville might recognize all this:
The Orville Experience can be enjoyed freely by the public during 2019 San Diego Comic-Con.
Model of the USS Orville (ECV-197).
Display panels on the USS Orville.
Uniforms worn aboard the USS Orville.
Bortus with Moustache.
Unk.
Captain Blavaroch.

This morning I walked past a variety of small shops in Hillcrest. Several had placed mannequins dressed up for Halloween in their windows. On a whim I took photos.
When I goofed around a bit this evening editing the images, concentrating on the creepy faces, I managed to terrify myself.
Now it’s your turn!

FOX San Diego Morning News reporters dressed as Princess Leia and Darth Vader interview Sam J. Jones, lead actor in the 1980 film Flash Gordon.
Here are some photos from my walk outside 2017 Comic-Con this morning. I spotted some celebrities, more very cool cosplay, and a rare Alien Queen!
Check it out!
A great Tweedledum and Tweedledee cosplay at 2017 San Diego Comic-Con!
Warlock cosplay from the video game Destiny.
Greg Cipes who voices Beast Boy in the Teen Titans animated series and Michelangelo in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is interviewed during Comic-Con.
Celebrity sightings are possible throughout San Diego Comic-Con! “Flash Gordon” embraces two popular characters he helped to inspire.
These cool cosplay enthusiasts were part of the FOX television Comic-Con broadcast. Star Wars side-by-side with steampunk!
A group shot with cosplayers and celebrities.
Cosplay of Jay Garrick, the old school Flash.
Two super popular characters together: it’s Spidey and Harley!
An old school Wonder Woman with aviator goggles is getting ready to defeat a WWI German general! He might be Erich Ludendorff, a villain in the recent hit movie.
A super awesome one quarter scale model of the Alien Queen was being shown by Matrix Studio along MLK Promenade.
A very detailed Alien egg and limbs.
Another look at the limited collector piece Alien Queen, one of only 300 produced by Matrix Studio.

The Statue of Liberty has become a vampire. Either that, or it’s not feeling very well. The Strain building wrap on the Hilton San Diego Bayfront appears more than halfway finished.
What new stuff is being prepared for 2016 San Diego Comic-Con?
Today, like yesterday, I circled all over the downtown and managed to capture a few fun photos that should give Comic-Con fans a little more insight into what’s coming up! Watch out for diseased vampires and aliens! Read the captions!
It’s a good thing these canopies are being erected today for 2016 San Diego Comic-Con and its long lines, because the weather is supposed to warm up a bit later this week.
The Conan Live From Comic-Con wrap on the Marriott Marquis hotel is just about done. I’ve seen no graphics yet on Petco Park, the Hard Rock Hotel, or elsewhere.
What I referred to as a stage under construction in yesterday’s blog post is actually a small enclosed structure for Amazon’s Thunderbirds Are Go.
Private businesses and gathering spots around downtown are just starting to prepare for Comic-Con. I see Fat Man is going to do some standup comedy about Batman.
This merchant in the Gaslamp Quarter is betting lots of Comic-Con fans will be on Team Wonder Woman.
Good grief! Even a clear skin concoction vendor in the Horton Plaza shopping mall is ready for Comic-Con customers!
Lastly, I spotted a very cool venue going up where the Assassin’s Creed obstacle course was the last couple years. This is going to be South Park 20 Interactive Fan Experience! Looks to me like it’s going to be epic!
Spread all over the grass, and stacked in crates, an absolutely huge amount of fun artwork is waiting to be installed at the South Park 20 Interactive Fan Experience. A large backdrop is being assembled by workers this very moment.
I’ve spotted an alien among those idyllic Rocky Mountain pine trees in South Park!

Yikes! Look at the creatures I spotted lurking among the trees on the west side of Balboa Park! That big one looks like a gigantic bloody yeti with goat hooves. Watch out!
What are scary monsters, aliens and trolls doing in Balboa Park? They’re being created for Halloween . . . to populate The Haunted Trail! Sunday afternoon I spotted the huge creatures under construction behind a fence. Look how high that bloody monster stands compared to the step ladder! I also observed a human dummy in an electric chair and loads of more weird, grotesque scenery.
San Diego’s unique Haunted Trail has been raising goosebumps for years now. Looks like visitors to this dark outdoor “haunted house” will be in for a lot of screaming!
Here’s the spooky castle-like entrance to The Haunted Trail!
