What’s this? The giant head of a mutant-hunting Sentinel outside San Diego Comic-Con?
Word is, Wolverine of the X-Men used his adamantium claws to behead the gigantic, deadly, cybernetic machine.
I see a crew of workers swarming around the Sentinel’s fallen head. They must be studying it.
Not sure if this is real life, or if I’m somehow in the Danger Room, with Colossus somewhere nearby…

Are those trees being forklifted into San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter enchanted?
Yes!
LAIKA is setting up a tiny magical forest at the entrance to the Hard Rock Hotel to promote their upcoming movie Wildwood. It’s another cool activation for Comic-Con 2026!
I thought enchanted trees had the ability to move around by themselves. Not these ones, apparently…

Yes, Doomsday is fated for San Diego. A portent of Doomsday is arising in the Gaslamp Quarter!
The historical Gaslamp Quarter sign is undergoing a sinister transformation. Doctor Doom seems to have recruited workers to prepare for his arrival. Some say the mighty throne of God Emperor Doom will be placed here in the center of Fifth Avenue.
Or perhaps this is a dimensional portal through which he’ll arrive to conquer Earth during Comic-Con 2026!

Starbucks at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront will be home to Willy Wonka and his Oompa-Loompa pals during Comic-Con 2026!
Local artist Shirish Villaseñor (@shirishtheartist) is now painting the windows of Starbucks with movie characters adapted from my favorite book when I was a boy: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!
Willy Wonka, as he slowly materializes, is holding the Golden Ticket! Perhaps you, too, can sample an Everlasting Gobstopper!
I hope no naughty children are nearby!

The windows of Sweet Things Frozen Yogurt are being painted for Comic-Con again!
Shirish Villaseñor (@shirishtheartist) decorates these windows every year with a different pop culture theme. You can find Sweet Things outside the Hilton Bayfront hotel near the San Diego Convention Center.

Look what I chanced upon today! A new science fiction movie, Space Samurai: Oasis, is being filmed inside the San Diego Central Library!
They were filming inside the library’s huge Reading Room, which I was told will be portrayed as the interior of a space ship!
Here’s a page that describes the movie, now in development.
