I got some unusual photos of the clock tower that stands next to the transit center at the 12th and Imperial trolley station downtown.  The clock is one cool San Diego sight that can be seen from many points in the city.

Check out these photographs!  I captured these three amazing images early this morning.  Sunrises over San Diego are often beautiful, but today the brightly painted clouds were absolutely stunning!

Just for fun, here are a couple more photos! I took these in March of 2015…

If you ever visit Seaport Village, there’s a good chance you’ll see the fellow on the right and his amazing gallery of balanced rocks.  He hangs out behind the wall at the water’s edge, right next to the grassy park.  (The park is called Embarcadero Marina Park North, by the way.)

People passing by are encouraged to take photos and try out their own rock balancing ability.  This lady was having a lot of trouble.  Even a small rock edgewise  on a water bottle isn’t easy.

A variety of fun Embarcadero photos!

Here comes a fun batch of photos taken Saturday during my walk along San Diego’s beautiful Embarcadero!

This sculpture was originally part of an Urban Trees bayside art exhibit some years ago.  A few remain on display here and there along the bay and elsewhere in San Diego.  In this photo, the sun is directly behind the translucent green material, making it glow!

I snapped these photos almost directly into the sun.  I assumed they’d turn out lousy.  But the effect is actually pretty cool!  To me it looks like white sails winging through a brightly shining heavenly space!

Captain Swordfish does terrible pirate mischief.

Sadly, my stroll along the Embarcadero today was interrupted by a terrible turn of events.  That half-crazed pirate, Captain Swordfish, was out on the sidewalk near the San Diego Maritime Museum, badgering passing tourists and other innocents with his patented piratical mischief.  Good grief!

Here he comes now about to draw his sword.  There seems to be no escape.  Isn’t ordinary pillaging and mayhem enough?  Aaarrrrr, matey!

I wonder if Captain Swordfish was responsible for this, too?

I was going through some of the photos I took while walking along the boat channel at Liberty Station.  This elegant clock donated by the Rotary Club has always struck me as odd–it stands for no reason on what is essentially a nature path among palm trees.

But something else seemed a bit weird in this pic.  There seemed to be a small dot directly above the clock.  I magnified the image and discovered a UFO!  Looks to me like a distant flying saucer!

I thought the strange dot might be an aircraft taking off from nearby Lindbergh Field, but it’s way too small and doesn’t look like any airplane.  What is it???

Not sure who all these Santas are, but they were strolling down the Embarcadero and turning heads.  Perhaps it’s a new fashion craze.

You can find this colorful artwork on the side of a building on Tenth Avenue as you enter downtown San Diego from Highway 163.

Looks to me like the artist has inserted architectural elements from the California missions into a Mediterranean scene.
