Even more cool street art in Logan Heights!

During my walk about Logan Heights today I met a few friendly members of the San Diego Art Team. They were creating even more cool street art just north of the intersection of 31st Street and Commercial Street.

Some of their recently spray painted art features popular Marvel Comics characters, particularly those related to the X-Men!

If the style of their work seems familiar, I blogged their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle mural (which has since been painted over) here and some of their other graffiti-style artwork here.

The San Diego Art Team is composed of Logan Heights community members who enjoy being creative and energizing their neighborhood with bold, colorful public art!

Very cool!

The Gifted trolley wrap for 2018 Comic-Con!

I found another cool trolley wrap for the upcoming 2018 San Diego Comic-Con! This one promotes The Gifted on FOX with the word PERSIST written above the show’s name. I haven’t been watching The Gifted, so someone might leave a comment with an explanation.

I do know the show is connected to Marvel’s popular X-Men, with young characters who develop mutant powers. They have to survive in a world where mutants are feared and considered dangerous.

Enjoy some photos!

Comic-Con banners: Get tested for the X-Gene!

Check it out! Three super huge banners have already been hung on a building for 2017 Comic-Con. They cover much of the Hilton San Diego Bayfront parking structure, and promote the upcoming FOX series The Gifted.

Those attending Comic-Con are urged to get tested by Sentinel Services for the X-Gene. (I wonder–if those who are tested are found to be positive, will they be sent away in an armored Mutant Transport trolley?)

In past years, I don’t recall huge banners like this appearing several weeks before the big event. I imagine tons and tons more cool stuff is on the way! Stay tuned!

A happy family provides a chilling message. It's not a crime to have the X-Gene. But it is a crime to hide it. Get tested.

Here's an example of what you might become if you have the X-Gene and suddenly mutate. I think this sinister-looking character is called the Toothy Composite Oddity. I spotted this sticker along Harbor Drive. I wonder if the Spiderman web-shooting gets tangled in the Wolverine claws?

Or worse, you might become Sheldon Cooper. That's Sheldon, isn't it? One outcome, I suppose, would be an intellect that almost matches the brain power of Reed Richards. And an over-sized ego nearly the size of Ego.

I spotted a third new trolley wrap for 2017 San Diego Comic-Con! This cool wrap promotes the upcoming FOX series The Gifted, which will concern Marvel’s universe of mutant X-Men. Looks like the Sentinel Services mutant transport will be filled with gifted Comic-Con attendees this year! Hopefully it transports them to the convention center, and not somewhere less pleasant!

I spoke to an MTS supervisor at America Plaza and he believes there will be one more wrap this year!

The Gifted will be based on Marvel's popular X-Men characters.

Here’s another photo I captured the following day!

And yet another photo! There now seems to be a different variation of this wrap for the older style trolleys. It comes with a warning!
