Futurama and Bob’s Burgers have appeared again on San Diego trolley wraps for Comic-Con!
The long running shows have been fan favorites for many years now. Whether conveyed by Fox, Disney or Hulu, their popular animated characters predictably appear on San Diego trolleys during Comic-Con.
The funny Futurama graphic on the wrap declares Blob-o-rama! The characters have been placed in an old school platformer video game!
The adjacent Bob’s Burgers image is titled Burger Quest! The Belcher family appears to be ready for battle!
I caught these images on the fly. I’ll endeavor to update this post with more photos…

A new San Diego trolley wrap for Comic-Con 2026 celebrates 10 years of My Hero Academia, all of which is available to stream on Crunchyroll!
The graphics represent exciting action from the long running, ultra popular anime series.
This trolley wrap celebrating My Hero Academia has rolled out just in time for “Hero Day” in Japan, which was observed on June 16th. A special 10th anniversary video can be viewed by My Hero Academia fans here. It’s titled “You Can Be a Hero.”
Meanwhile, check out what Comic-Con goers will be seeing next month on certain trolleys passing in front of the San Diego Convention Center!

Audible’s popular audiobook series Harry Potter and Dungeon Crawler Carl are being promoted on a new San Diego trolley wrap for Comic-Con 2026!
I caught sight of the new trolley wrap this morning and captured these photographs.

The second trolley wrap for San Diego Comic-Con 2026 promotes the new Nintendo Switch game Splatoon Raiders!
Cool graphics will greet Comic-Con goers this year who happen to take this trolley car.
The Splatoon game launches July 23, 2026, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2. Players take on the role of a “mechanic” working with the musical trio Deep Cut to explore the Spirhalite Islands, hunt for treasure, and battle Salmonids from a customizable “hideout ship” hub.
Sounds fun to me!

The first San Diego trolley wrap for Comic-Con 2026 is now running! It debuted yesterday and I saw it this morning while walking downtown. It features Godzilla!
There will be a whopping 45 trolley wraps this year, with 15 unique designs. Yes, it appears Comic-Con is going to be epic in 2026, with Marvel in Hall H, a big Star Trek reveal, and more!

Motorists heading down Interstate 8 at the east end of Mission Valley can’t help but notice this elevated trolley station. It’s the Grantville Station, of the San Diego Trolley’s Green Line.
The architecture of the Grantville Station is truly eye-catching and unique. Small signs posted in various places explain:
The central courtyard is a river-like gathering spot surrounded by pillars and beneath the station. Free form cast stone veneer walls, water washed flagstone caps, native riparian trees, shrubbery, and river rock mulch become a visual link to the nearby San Diego River.
Leather ferns and bamboo reeds planted near the stairwells grow from the plaza towards the elevated station 40 feet above.
The soaring station is a tribute to the aviation and nautical industries. The Trolley platform bows out in the middle, inspired by ship and plane architecture. The design repeats in the granite benches and bus shelters.
At night, spectacular streams of light beam upwards illuminating the pillars, stairways and octagonal tops of the twin elevator shafts.
On the platform, enjoy the unparalleled views to the north and south before boarding a Trolley to your next destination.
San Diego’s rich history includes important ships, shipyards, major aviation milestones and airplane construction.
The station’s architect was Parsons Brinckerhoff, Inc. and the station first opened in July, 2005.

Good old San Diego Trolley car number 1001 is running in downtown today. It operates along the Silver Line loop during holidays–and today is Presidents’ Day!
The red light rail vehicle was the first modern trolley car to operate, back in 1981. Today families and excited kids were riding the iconic car. Me too!
Today, February 4th, is the birthday of civil rights icon Rosa Parks. San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) is honoring her heroism by reserving a seat for her on every bus and trolley!
MTS has been doing this for years.
Back in 2022, also on February 4th, I photographed a seat on a bus that was reserved for Rosa Parks. Today, I found a seat on a San Diego Trolley just for her!
Of course, I had to take a photo.
The legacy of a courageous citizen lives on. This sign on a trolley seat is a small but important reminder that one individual with a single act of courage can change the world.
If you’ve recently traveled on the Green Line of the San Diego Trolley between the Morena/Linda Vista and Fashion Valley stations, you’ve seen renewed construction activity to the north of the tracks. That half of the old Riverwalk golf course is being replaced by Riverwalk San Diego, a massive project now under development!
I saw all this activity through the trolley window a couple days ago and took several photos.

Riverwalk San Diego will include 4,300 homes (including 430 affordable homes), 152,000 square feet of retail, one million square feet of office, and 97 acres of parks and open space, including a restored San Diego River and a 55-acre regional park.
