Some new, very cool urban art has recently appeared on Adams Avenue in Normal Heights! Here are a few photos!
The street mural, titled Un dia de Mercado, is painted on the side of one small building. It depicts a Mexican marketplace, and many of the goods a shopper is likely to find there. The colors are vivid and happy. The artwork inspires joy.

My name is Luis Cortez-Santiago and I am the main artist for the “Un día de Mercado” mural on Adams Avenue. I live now in Montreal, but I have a long time relation with San Diego, I got a Master on Arts´degree from SDSU. My signature is the one that reads “Luis” with the small bird.
Thank you so much for your kind words on the mural, my friends Maribel Siman DeLucca and Claudio DeLucca are the owners of the building, they are the ones who invited me to paint it. The “Back from Tomboctou” store on that building belongs to them, you can fint there all the Latin Amercian mechandise that inspired the mural, Claudio and Maribel are lovely people!

The “Dos Palmas Cafe” is also located on that building, I painted two palm trees specially for them, they serve the best coffee on Adams!
