The annual San Diego Bay Downtown Cleanup was held this morning! Local scuba divers cleaned up underwater garbage at the edge of our beautiful waterfront, while other volunteers assisted gathering trash above water.
I walked along the Embarcadero from the San Diego Maritime Museum down to Tuna Harbor and took a bunch of cool photographs. Hopefully these pics provide a little inspiration! Let’s make the world more clean and beautiful!

Thank you all so very much.
Now if you could only get the US Navy to do the same!

It is wonderful to see how San Diegoans are pitching in to help clean up the garbage. Too bad there is all that garbage that needs cleaning up! What about having security cameras placed along the boardwalk to see who is throwing in all that mess? Or is it accumulating there, originating from somewhere else, due to the tide? Your photos are terrific. Is the city publicizing the fact that all that garbage is accumulating? Your photos could be used to that end.

There are security cameras everywhere along the water. One reason is because San Diego Bay contains a huge Navy presence. I suppose the trash mostly is just windblown litter from thoughtless people, or from garbage cans ravaged by seagulls or searched by the homeless. All that trash I’m sure could be found in almost any city. It’s unfortunate.
