One of the most popular attractions in San Diego’s Balboa Park is Spanish Village. Here are a few pics of the colorful courtyard and the quaint studios of local artists that surround it…

The San Diego Mineral and Gem Society has a building in Spanish Village which showcases amazing rock and mineral collections. The lapidary workshop can only be glimpsed when one inside door is open.

Spanish Village was a place I would go when I needed to be cheered up and have some time to myself. Thank you for the virtual visit and for the follow on my blog, I appreciate this!

I’ve discovered it’s a great place to just sit and recharge while watching happy people and basking in sunshine and art-shine!

I don’t know if you’re an early morning person, but if you go to Spanish Village early in the morning, before it opens, you can often find shop owners and shopkeepers who are only too willing to let you in for a private tour of their shops. I go between 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. At 9:00 a.m. I head on over to the Zoo for three hours.

Perhaps I’ll try that. Some mornings I barely manage to crawl out of bed…
