After sunset I walked east from the Broadway Pier. Strolling slowly along the sidewalk, I gazed up at the changing light on tall glassy buildings.
When I reached Fourth Avenue, I turned back west and took a final photograph down Broadway.

Last weekend I was able to enjoy some amazing views of downtown San Diego. I took photographs from the 9th Floor of San Diego’s Central Library, looking west.
It isn’t often the library’s outdoor Woods Family Sunset View Terrace can be accessed. But a program was scheduled to begin at the Shiley Special Events Suite when I happened to be walking around, and the terrace was open to the public.
Wow! Nice view, huh?

Have you ever wondered what it might be like to fly around a city as a bird? Traveling in three dimensions, in any direction, wherever you please?
When I walk downtown, with all the seagulls, crows, sparrows, pigeons and other birds flying about, I sometimes try to imagine what they see. And what, if anything, they think of it all!
During my walk this morning I took the above photo at Civic Center Plaza. And I started to look for unique and unusual photographs.
Gravity glued me to the sidewalk, but some of these photos might provide something of a bird’s perspective.

Early this evening I found myself in downtown San Diego, in an area that is sometimes called the Financial District.
As I stood at the corner of Seventh Avenue and B Street, I looked up at the skyscrapers around me.
Sunset light was reflecting from building tops, windows.
I felt inspired to look for interesting photographs!

I must confess I love taking photographs in fog. Especially a downtown fog, that can swallow large buildings whole!
Often the tops of high skyscrapers melt into a ghostly gray nothingness.
Well, as you can see, it was rather foggy this morning in San Diego!

How often do you tilt your head way, way back and look straight up?
I don’t very often. But once in a while something beautiful or mysterious up there happens to attract my attention.

The reliable sun rose again this morning. It cast its warm light over San Diego.
The sun promised to eventually climb above downtown skyscrapers.
Breathing in fresh air, moving between long shadows and seeping sunlight, I aimed my camera eastward and took a few photographs as I walked along the Embarcadero.
