San Diego History Center debuts community ofrenda.

The San Diego History Center in Balboa Park debuted their community ofrenda for Dia de Los Muertos today. By sheer chance I discovered it!

This beautiful altar to honor and remember deceased loved ones, or ofrenda as it’s called in Spanish, contains many of the traditional spiritual symbols.

In making their ofrenda, the San Diego History Center has included photos of notable Mexican Americans who have made a difference in our community.

The ofrenda will soon expand. Visitors to the History Center will be invited to write messages to their own loved ones who’ve passed on, or make a marigold with paper to add to the altar.
