In the city of Vista many hearts are locked together.
A double heart-shaped sculpture on Main Street titled Love Locks invites residents to permanently attach a padlock. Each lock symbolizes an unbreakable bond of love.
Love Locks was created by artists Rick Randall and Jaydon Sterling Randall in 2016.
People have added hundreds of unique locks to the two joined hearts.
Each lock has its own story.

I love the concept of love locks. First time I saw the concept was on a YouTube video of a bridge in Germany that has thousands of locks attached to the structure. A bridge in Paris has lost its locks when officials removed them all in 2015. And I thought Paris was the city of love.

I’ve read the problem is all the added weight can pose a danger to a bridge’s structural integrity. It would be a bummer if a bridge collapsed due to excessive love!

Hadn’t considered the weight issue. The San Diego sculpture is the better idea, designed specifically for the function and not a real hazard if it got too heavy for its own good.
