Cool smiles and sights along Sixth Avenue downtown.
I rely on Christine’s hot chocolate on rare super cold San Diego mornings. She’s been smiling near the corner of Sixth and B Street for as long as I can remember!
These photos were taken during a morning walk down Sixth Avenue in downtown San Diego. They contain cool smiles and glimpses.

Great pictures, especially the one of the El Cortez building’s reflection. I worked for Harcourt Brace Jovanovich years ago as a book designer. I’m sorry to see that they re-painted the beautiful blue and white exterior a dull grey. It is such a beautiful Art Deco building!
That a nice walk along sixth avenue, Christine’s stall looks nice, bet the hot chocolate was good. So many great sights to see on this walk, love the America’s Finest City mural on that building, and the colourful Hotel Z. I think that sign about Rock & Roll was brilliant as well! Awesome photographs 🙂

I remember the old color scheme and I liked it better, too. Did you design book covers?

Some covers, some inside layouts. I worked for their K-12 educational book division, Coronado Publishers. This was pre-computer, mind you. 🙂
