After I got off from work today, a little before sunset, the sky above Mission Valley was full of dramatic clouds. The weather has been unsettled lately.
As I walked past two tall glassy buildings, dark gray and bright white cumulus clouds in a blue sky were mirrored in the windows…

Thanks for the beautiful clouds and their reflections! The mirrored walls of modern office buildings can be unspeakably dull at noon but shockingly alive at other times. A favorite Shelter Island memory in my boatbuilding career was sitting in a bosun’s chair up a 120 foot mast just as the buildings of downtown light up at sunset. Swaying from the masthead, they light up in burning fire then go dark one by one. The sun sets, the wind turns cold, and darkness triumphs. Cheers, Terry Goodbody

What a great memory! I’ve also noticed how the skyline can light up when seen from Coronado. Like magic.
