Photos of cool urban art in the Village of La Jolla.
Here are some photos of cool art seen while walking about the streets of La Jolla. More specifically, the Village of La Jolla–the central business and cultural district which is the heart of this wonderful community.
La Jolla is an affluent part of San Diego, so there seem to be art galleries wherever one roams. But there are also many eye-catching street murals and works of urban art.
This collection of photos is far from comprehensive. These are just photos taken during several semi-random walks around The Village (including today). That’s the way this blog usually operates!

I believe that egg-shaped object is by Andy Goldsworthy, an artist whose specialty is ephemeral sculptures made from elements of nature. There’s a great documentary about him called ‘Rivers and Tides’
The last time I was in La Jolla I took a picture of the Blah, Blah, Blah wall. It intrigued me and I thought there just may be a blog post in it… hidden somewhere. Great photos as usual! Maybe after Labor Day (when the tourists go home) I’ll make it back there to see the other art I missed.
I love your blog. I live here (in San Diego), but you always seem to show me places I haven’t seen. I’ve been to La Jolla so many times and have not seen a lot of this art. Great photos! 🙂
If I didn’t walk all over every which way looking for “cool sights”, I’d miss a ton of stuff, too! That’s what makes this photo blogging so very fun and interesting!
